This is a 35-hour week contract working shifts 24/7.


As the pivotal communicator for Heathrow's rail operations, you will react to fault information management, swiftly address technical equipment failures or contractor lapses.


Your duties include initiating corrective action, implementing degrading modes and emergencies procedures and ensuring continuous updates for customers and stakeholder.


With a primary mission to optimise Heathrow's rail infrastructure and stations, your role aims to maximise availability and minimise disruptions, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders.


  • Proactively monitor and manage suppliers.
  • Manage outstanding faults in Maximo, ensure faults are closed out in order of priority and escalate as and when appropriate.
  • Receive information about defects in any of the company's assets and record accurately and promptly.
  • Advise the relevant contractor of reported defects and check that each occurrence has been remedied effectively, quickly and in accordance with the contract.
  • Collect routine data about the state of the company's physical assets and enter it into the asset management systems.
  • Control access to the railway during the out of service hours to ensure only competent people are being employed and that they are working in a safe environment.
  • Ensure all reported faults and hazards are actioned immediately.
  • Monitor CCTV screens and other control indicators to detect abnormalities and initiate actions to remedy these.
  • Activate the safety critical emergency procedures in serious incidents and operate ventilating and emergency equipment to minimise risk to life and property.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience in a safety environment.
  • Understanding of a rail control room.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Calm under pressure and able to effectively communicate to staff & stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Computer literacy be proficient in the use office 365 and experience using Maximo or similar Maintenance Management Systems.
