Our client in East London is recruiting for a Housing Officer to be responsible for the identification, evaluation and management of risk within the neighbourhoods including risks linked to tenants, tenancies, properties and estates.


Duties

  • To provide a comprehensive housing management service throughout the borough.
  • Management of breaches of tenancy/leaseholder agreements.
  • Estate management and monitoring.
  • Preventing, managing and reducing antisocial behaviour.
  • Identifying and supporting the management of risk linked to tenants, tenancies, properties and estates.
  • Supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies.
  • Ensuring high standards of service are delivered by all service partners linked to Neighbourhood Services.
  • Identifying and reporting repairs directly to the service provider, and following up when necessary to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Elements of Gas safety and Fire Risk Assessment compliance.
  • To work in conjunction with the Enforcement and Tenancy teams in delivering a tenureblind service across the neighbourhood.
  • To work with colleagues in collating information about damage, neglect and repairs that need to be recharged to tenants, leaseholders and others.

Knowledge and Qualifications
- l Experience of working specifically in a social housing management roles.

  • Experience in dealing with housing management issues.
  • Experience of working creatively with partners and other agencies, community and voluntary groups.
  • Awareness of legislation, policy and best practice relating to housing management, rent arrears management and antisocial behaviour.
  • Knowledge of legal enforcement proceedings via the County Court.
  • An understanding of Safeguarding as it applies to neighbourhood and housing management.
  • Good general understanding of buildings and maintenance issues.
  • Certificate in Housing (Level 3) or equivalent.
  • HHSRS accreditation.
  • BTEC Level 5 in Neighbourhood Nuisance and Anti Social Behaviour or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid drivers licence and have access to own means of transport.
