Right now, we're looking for a bookings advisor to join our Admissions office in Oxford.About the hospital
Nuffield Hospital Oxford (The Manor) is a £50 million hospital offering the very latest in terms of technology, treatment and care.
We have invested heavily in high technology scanners and equipment to support the wide range of specialist services available.We have 25 consulting rooms, six main theatres and two minor theatres, and - almost uniquely in a private hospital - a seven bedded Intensive Care Unit.
About the roleThe Admissions team play a critical part in ensuring the patient journey is a smooth one.
We are responsible for assisting both consultants and secretaries in liaising with our staff for the admission and pre-assessing of patients prior to their surgery/procedure.
This team also takes inbound calls via the switchboard for any queries.It is paramount that we ensure patients are relaxed and feel comfortable with our services from the minute we first make contact.
The admissions office is a small busy team that is responsible for inputting of all inpatient bookings for various departments including main Operating Theatres, Endoscopic and Outpatient Suites, Cardiology and Radiology departments.
We are also responsible for arranging pre-assessments prior to surgery and confirming authorisation for insured patients and are about to take on responsibility for payments for self-pay patients.
We are in constant communication with Theatres and Endoscopy Suite on a daily basis to ensure operating times are efficiently booked managed to maximise the capacity in both areas, and to inform of any changes and additions should they arise.
As with many roles within the hospital you will be dealing with patients at a stressful time so patience, sympathy and a caring approaching are essential to the role.
You will also be required to have good customer services experience, preferably in an administration role and be used to working with IT systems.
The role involves handling a lot of sensitive data and liaising with customers at a stressful time, so patience sympathy and an eye for detail are paramount to the role.
Most importantly you will have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of people at various levels and able to demonstrate this through previous experience.
