Job Description 1

Information Management (IM) is a collaborated BCH (Beds, Cambs & Herts) department incorporating various business areas within Organisational Support. One of the functions within IM is the Access Control Team.

An opportunity has arisen to join this small team at a particularly busy time as they embark on the final stage of the introduction of a new Access Control system across Herts and ERSOU sites so all of BCH will then be on the same system.

The team is based in Letchworth, although an ability for to travel around the 3 force areas for occasional site visits is required.

The role consists of making new and replacement cards, resolving access issues, liaising with the Vetting team for vetting information, granting and refusing access requests and visiting sites around the estate to check for security.

The skills you will need are a working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel as we use these daily - you will be trained in the use of the 2 Access Control programs we currently use across the 3 forces.

You will be dealing with officers and staff daily and therefore a customer focused, 'can do' attitude is needed. Some of the role involves problem solving so an enquiring mind is an advantage. The role is challenging and enjoyable.

  • Evidence how you Take Ownership (within cluster 'Resolute, compassionate and committed')
  • Evidence your abilities around collaborative working (within cluster 'Inclusive, enabling and visionary leadership')
  • Evidence how you analyse critically (within cluster 'Intelligent, creative and informed policing')
