Description
The Department of Classics at the University of Reading is a flourishing and innovative environment which is currently expanding its student numbers and staff base.
We seek to appoint a full-time teaching-intensive lecturer for a period of 18 months.The appointee will teach on and convene at least one core module in Roman History, and teach Latin and/or Ancient Greek.
The appointee may also be invited to contribute to teaching in Museum Studies, and/or to teaching in their research specialty.
The appointee will also be expected to undertake substantial administrative duties.
The appointee will have a PhD in a relevant area, and experience of successful teaching in relevant modules at a variety of levels in a university setting.
Although the post does not involve research, the appointee will be supported by an energetic and creative research culture in the Department.
You will have:
A completed PhD in a topic of Roman History
Experience of teaching Roman History at university level
Experience of teaching Latin and/or Ancient Greek at university level
Experience of, or willingness to undertake, administrative duties, including in pastoral care, student recruitment, and/or quality assurance and development.
