We are looking to enhance our therapeutic offer to young people in Salford by recruiting a Highly Specialised Systemic Family Therapist to lead our systemic pathway.

You should be a qualified Systemic Family Therapist and have had proven experience working since qualification within CAMHS or adult mental health services.

We would expect you to have experience of leading and developing services, managing risk and complexity and working alongside colleagues from other multi disciplinary backgrounds.

You will have the opportunity to supervise the work of colleagues and offer consultation and training within your professional discipline to enhance the skills and knowledge of the CAMHS team and partner agencies where appropriate.

Further training and CPD activities will be an essential part of the offer from our service in order to ensure we are able to provide the most effective, evidence based, creative systemic service to those who need it.

The post holder will join the multidisciplinary mental health team in the delivery of mental health care to children and young people, providing highly specialist systemic family therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people and their families.


The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of systemic practice within the service, including taking responsibility for contributing to audit, policy and service development in line with clinical governance.


The post holder will be responsible for the processes and oversight of the Systemic Family Therapy pathway in the context of a comprehensive and integrated CAMHS service.

They will work directly with people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, and/or struggling with the effects of trauma, including those who pose multiple challenges to themselves and mental health services, with complex needs and posing high risk, and who may be involved with multiple agencies and services.

The post holder will provide clinical/ therapeutic expertise to colleagues to develop excellent evidence-based practice; and will work collaboratively with other partner agencies and services.

They will supervise and support the assessments and interventions provided by other clinical members of the multidisciplinary team.
