About the Role

At our Ely site we are looking to recruit Assembly Operatives in our production area. You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Assembly Team Leader. You will be responsible for the operation of machinery to ensure efficiencies are maximised and downtime is minimised.


Health and safety is a very important aspect within our business and you will be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines.


Within your role as an Assembly Operative you are key to ensuring that productivity is exceptional and your excellent focus on attention to detail ensures that the quality of the work leads to mínimal errors and that we have satisfied clients while working within tight deadlines.

You need to ensure that the maintenance and cleaning tasks on the machines are planned to ensure maximum output.

The role requires you to work with a variety personnel within your area of production.

About you

  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of good health and safety practices
  • Proven experience of working towards KPI's and deadlines within a fastpaced environment
  • Effective communication skills; both written and verbally
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to make informed decisions
