Job Purpose:


The Assistant Director of Customer Services is accountable for spearheading the strategic activities, with a focus on delivery and innovation.

This role involves collaborating with Councillors to define and achieve strategic objectives, providing strong leadership to senior managers, and modelling the organisation's values and behaviors.

Key responsibilities include influencing the Corporate Plan, fostering effective relationships with stakeholders, driving cultural change, and ensuring budgetary compliance.


Responsibilities:


  • Influence and contribute to Corporate Plan objectives, considering internal and external factors.
  • Establish effective relationships with stakeholders and emphasise accountability and collaboration.
  • Collaborate across service areas to drive efficiencies and cultural change.
  • Lead and manage staff, setting and evaluating objectives.
  • Ensure budgetary plans align with the Medium Term Financial Plan.
  • Provide assurance of service compliance and develop robust action plans for exceptions.
  • Lead risk management and organisational resilience efforts across programs and service areas.

Requirements:


  • Deep knowledge and extensive experience in a specific field.
  • Degree level or equivalent qualification with substantial postqualification experience.
  • Membership in an appropriate professional body or evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to drive change and implement organisational strategy effectively.
  • Commitment to Haringey's vision and goals.
