Protection of Children and Young Persons

Background to the Post
As of 2016, Warwickshire College Group now have all cleaning service in house under the Estates Team umbrella.

The cleaning team are there to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the college facilities are maintained to a high Standard.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • To clean all areas as directed to cleaning specification and secure all areas after completion of work tasks.
  • Be competent in the use of electrical equipment, vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines etc.
  • To clean hard floors, carpets, walls, glass, light fittings etc.
  • To remove body fluids spillages as required.
  • Wear appropriate supplied uniform PPE etc
  • Ensure personal housekeeping of cleaning equipment is keep and maintained to a high standard including collecting and emptying bins
  • Reporting any maintenance issues and carrying out replenishment of consumables
  • Liaise with the line manager on a regular basis regarding supplies and consumables and any cleaning issues.
  • Undertake training on a regular basis, related to Housekeeping issues, to Include Health and Safety, Coshh, Risk Assessments, Drugs Awareness etc.

Annual Leave


The College offers a generous annual leave entitlement to support staff, commencing with 25 days rising to 28 days after 5 years' service, pro rata per annum plus 8 statutory days (Public & bank Holidays) and College closure days.


Hours of Work


The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 37 hours per week.

There may be some evening and Saturday commitments, time off in lieu will be given by arrangement with the Head of Work Based Learning.


Place of Work
The principal place of work will be the College's premises based at our Rugby Centre.

However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.
