Team/Function Overview

The Business Risk and Controls Analyst is a developing professional role that deals with most duties independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems.

The role integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industrystandards and practices.

It requires a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-function/ job family.

Analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies are also key to success in this role. It requires attention to detail and sound judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. The role typically involveshandling variable issues with potentially broader business impacts.
The role may involve moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities.

The quality and timeliness of the service provided by this role will affect the effectiveness of the Global Legal Control team and other closely relatedteams.


Role / Position Overview:


  • Supports activities related to legal risk/controls
  • Coverage of Managers Control Assessment (MCA) oversight for the EMEA and APAC regions, including managing and coordinating Quarterly and Annual Risk Assessments
  • Assist with coordinating and consolidating corrective action plans to bring resolution of issues owned by the Global Legal
  • Controls team
  • Ensure all MCA related activities are in compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework/Policy, Operational Risk Policy, Standards and Procedures.
  • Assist with leading adhoc projects and initiatives to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Assist with review of Policies, Standards, Procedures for proposed enhancements.
  • Assist with Internal Audit and Regulatory requests/reviews.
  • Provide training, reporting, and support for the Legal department on the MCA process, as needed.
  • Assist with any MCA transformation efforts within the Legal department.
  • Performs varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines
  • Responsible for tasks associated with programs and projects
  • Provides analysis of matters in support of resolution of situations or to formulate an approach
  • Liaises with other control and functional businesses in support of project initiatives
  • Works closely with the team's manager to complete tasks assigned

Knowledge/Experience:


  • Relevant experience
  • Experience working in corporate legal department, law firm, financial services, consulting, technology firm or related industry, preferred but not required
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry

Skills:


  • Proficiency with MS Office products
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills, with the ability to present to and influence senior management
  • Strong work ethic
  • Analytical approach with an eye for detail and emphasis on accuracy
  • Understanding of project management methodologies

Qualifications:


  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
