Multi Skilled Maintenance Operative

We are looking for an experienced, hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy Multi Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our existing busy Maintenance Team.

This is a key support role which requires excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills. Works including repairs to refurbishment, upgrades and new builds. A highly flexible proactive attitude is essential to meet the demands of this environment.

Set amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 250 primates.

Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim Cronin to provide abused Spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home.

Today Monkey World works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia.

At the park visitors can see over 250 primates of more than 22 different species.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities

Competently able to complete all aspects of interior and exterior building, repairing and refurbishment works
Have an awareness of manual handling, ladder safety, working at height, health and safety.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi task and work unsupervised with a flexible can do attitude, as no two days will ever be the same
Highly organised and an excellent team player
Be available to work at least 1 weekend in 3 to meet the operational needs of the Park.
Physically fit due to the size and location of the park
Full UK Driving Licence and transportation
