Behaviour Mentor


Location:
Lewisham


Contract:
Full time until the end of the academic year with potential to extend

We are looking for a
Behaviour Mentor who will:

  • Prioritise safety and well-being, especially for students with challenging behaviour, creating a secure educational environment
  • Offer specialised onetoone and small group support to students with SEND and SEMH challenges
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to manage challenging behaviours
  • Proactively cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, implementing strategies to manage and redirect challenging behaviours effectively
  • Provide targeted support for social and emotional development, tailoring interventions to address challenging behaviours and promote positive interactions
  • Work collaboratively with staff and specialists to develop and implement comprehensive behaviour intervention plans

Requirements of the
Behaviour Mentor role:


  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, emphasising the ability to connect with students with diverse learning needs
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for supporting children, particularly those with SEN and SEMH requirements
  • Demonstrate experience in working effectively with primaryaged children, specifically highlighting expertise in Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, fostering an inclusive learning environment
