An exciting opportunity has arisen for self-starting individuals to work for a long standing, large, progressive, family owned food retailing business.


Based at our Trafford Park depot, the role of the Administrator is to support the depot with our supply of great local produce through our online and traditional business via our "_Best of Local_" offering which includes milk, a bespoke butcher, groceries and fruit & veg.

In particular, but not exclusively, your responsibilities are:

  • To communicate competently on the telephone and in person with customers, suppliers, staff and directors, in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and communicate calls or information onward to the relevant person.
  • To ensure the efficient and effective working of the administration of the Company with emphasis on the timely, accurate and comprehensive provision of financial and management information.
  • To ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data on the Company's in house computer systems and ledgers, and check the information outputs of these systems and ledgers for accuracy and meaning by way of reconciliations and cross checks.
  • Maintain customer accounts and delivery instructions on handhelds used by Drivers.
  • Efficiently and accurately take card payments over the telephone.
  • Manage the filing of information in an ordered and logical fashion.
  • Highlight any issues of concern financial or otherwise to the Depot Manager or Assistant Depot Manager when they arise.
  • To safeguard the information and assets of the Company by due regard for security of its cash and cash equivalent assets, premises, computer and filing systems.
  • Experience in a busy office environment, preferably with a customer services background.
  • GCSE level or equivalent education, including English and Maths.
  • Excellent numeracy and keyboard skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a small close team.
  • Ability to talk to customers confidently and competently on the telephone.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 7.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. You will be required to work some Saturdays, this is done on a rota basis (1 in 3). Payment for this shift is at time and half.

You may also be asked to work the occasional bank holiday for which you will receive a day back in lieu.
