The Company

Cherwell Collective, CIC is a community-based organisation located in Kidlington that aims to reduce waste and lower our carbon footprint.

Through various activities such as distributing food surplus, repurposing food surplus in their cafe, growing food for the community, and repurposing non-food waste items, Cherwell Collective builds a sustainable future led by the local community and supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

Cherwell Collective's guiding principles include friends helping friends, keeping it green and clean, no food left behind, and education is empowering.

Waste Innovation Station (WISH) is Cherwell Collective, CIC partnership supporting the transition to circular infrastructure in Oxfordshire. It includes a practical action museum, dedicated to guiding the community towards waste reduction and sustainable consumption.

Through tutorials, DIY kits, and engaging events such as repair cafes, clothing swaps, workshops, and gift exchanges, WISH inspires people to take the small steps each individual can to make a big difference as a community.

WISH's unique educational carbon quizzes illuminate the environmental impact of consumer choices, while our practical tips help individuals adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, following the 6 Rs of a circular economy.

WISH's annual No Waste Noel Christmas market brings together local vendors that exclusively sell giftable products made from repurposed or upcycled materials, and connects the community to local environmentally and socially sustainable organisations.
