**Seeking: An enthusiastic, fun, and inclusive Community Support Worker for a sporty, chatty and very determined 18-year-old with a great sense of humour. This is a really fun role supporting an active person who has combined vision and auditory impairments. Auditory equipment is provided and the young person is a cane user who continues to receive mobility support. This very active, energetic and ambulant young person is passionate about football, loves to play many sports and take part in multiple active indoor and outdoor activities.

The Community Support Worker role involves empowering this person, to increase their influence, access their community and transition to adulthood by building confidence, social communication and independence skills.


  • This involves:
- sensitively facilitating social communication skills in peer groups, new situations and in busy/noisy environments
- accessing information eg on social media and the internet
- building independence skills such as cooking in the home and accessing public transport to achieve combined mobility and social goals.

  • These skills will be developed upon during fun days out and planned activities including concerts, festivals and live ticket events. The role requires no personal care.
Person Specification

  • Your enthusiasm, positive energy and inclusive attitude is more important than your experience. We are looking for a flexible worker that is outgoing and an enthusiastic person who is friendly, chatty, and open to new experiences. You should be an excellent communicator, facilitator and intervenor who is adaptable and a good problem solver. Relevant training is provided.
Hours

  • Nonterm time: including weekdays, weekends, evenings and overnight breaks away. Casual contract
- £9.95 per hour including holiday pay and will be paid through the PAYE scheme. This is not a cash position.
