The role will involve:

Supporting a boy in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Avoidance Demand (AD)
Helping the child to feel safe and secure in the classroom and other environments
Developing and implementing strategies to manage AD and other challenging behaviours
Collaborating with the child's teacher and other support staff to ensure that his individual needs are met
Assisting with activities of daily living, such as eating and toileting, as required
Facilitating communication and social interaction with peers and adults
Supporting the child in his academic and social development
Participating in regular meetings to review the child's progress and plan for future support
