Description
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.


The post holder will be responsible for operational management and professional leadership of their Child & Family Health Team within a geographical area of the HSCP's.

The post holder will effectively manage the deployment of team resources within the area to provide an efficient service which complements the overall Children and Family service within the area.


  • The post holder has change management, staff development (via Turas PDPs), local health & safety and clinical risk management responsibilities. The post holder may also undertake clinical work when required to support the effective functioning of the team.
  • The post holder will actively contribute to clinical / care governance activity in collaboration with other members of the multiagency, multidisciplinary teams within Children & Family Services and at National level where appropriate.
  • The post holder as a senior member of the local management team will be expected to deputise in the absence of the Service manager where appropriate and provide cross cover to other Team Leaders, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Requirements:


  • First level registered nurse with a currently valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Post registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing
  • Relevant post registration experience as a PHN/Health Visitor/School Nurse
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to Child Protection, Children's Act, Police Act and Vulnerable adults
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Excellent communication skills written & verbal
  • Leadership & management qualifications or experience
  • Skills to plan and organise complex activities, programmes, projects and implementation of change.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines
