Hybrid Working

We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person.

We don't like to mandate how much you visit the office and work from home, that's to be agreed upon between you and your manager.

Important Information

  • We are looking for Data graduates who are located within a commutable distance of either our London or Manchester office. We are operating a hybrid model of working but inperson learning and collaboration is key for us too
  • Your first few weeks will be in person with other graduates so you can collaborate and get to know each other and your teams
  • Application closing date is 1st December

At Starling, we use a variety of different tools and technologies to keep our app and business running smoothly.

Whether you're aiming to be Data Engineering, Science, or Analytics - we have a host of things in our tech stack that you would have the opportunity to learn and work with.

We're open-minded when it comes to hiring and we care more about aptitude and attitude than specific experience.

For our graduate intake you will need to be a recent university graduate who is ready to start a full time position from April or September 2024.

Interview process

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious.

In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:


  • Oneway Video Screen we'll send you 5 questions for you to record your responses which we'll be looking at your fit for the team, interest in the role and Starling
  • Takehome tech test (can be solved in any language you are comfortable with) ~3 hours
  • Technical facetoface interview ~1hr 30 mins
  • Final Interview ~30 minutes
