Bailey Employment Services Ltd are recruiting for a Night Porter for their highly reputable client based in a beautiful rural setting near Howden.
- You will be collectively responsible for all public areas, bedrooms as well as laundry and back of house facilities. An eye for detail is a must to maintain extremely high standards
- You will be key to ensuring our guests visits are comfortable and enjoyable by creating a fresh and immaculate impression
- You must be flexible and be available to work different shift patterns depending on the business's requirements
- You must be able to use initiative to solve problems and demonstrate good customer service skills
Responsibilities:
- Set up the hotel for all events, conferences, weddings and viewings e.g. setting up rooms, laying fires/ preparation of breakfasts/ evening meals
- Cleaning/ preparing commercial and some domestic areas of the Hall in line with the weekly events calendar; ensure that the hotel is always presentable for guests
- Work with the housekeeping team to ensure that the kitchen areas in particular are kept up to an excellent standard including cleaning fridges and other storage containers; Daily log for the kitchen (in line with requirements of the Food Standards Agency)
- Managing laundry: the laundry for SMH is outsourced to a third party but needs sorting, logging and organising
- Waste management: ensuring that bins are emptied promptly and put out for collection
- Compile logs to ensure equipment is organised and stored correctly; register any damage and report on maintenance issues
- Count stock (such as alcohol). Ensure stock levels are appropriate for e.g. cleaning products, toiletries, bulbs etc. Order spare parts as necessary
- Check alarms and maintain logs; note any hazards and report in a timely manner
- Greet and check in B&B guest arrivals if they arrive late and manage the bar for guests when required
- Provide regular and clear handovers to other members of the team
Hours
- 36 hours per week,
- Rolling 4 nights on and 4 nights off rota
- 11pm start time8am finish time
- Fulltime
- Permanent
