Job Description:


We are looking for a
Research Associate to join our Global Upstream team in
Edinburgh, Scotland. Our dedicated oil and gas sector teams are located around the world, and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets.

Together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors.


About the role


As part of a world-class team of oil and gas experts, you will monitor and assess key events and commercial developments in oil and gas, analysing industry data.

You will use this to produce high-quality research in the form of thought-provoking articles, presentations and reports. You will develop a unique perspective and understanding of the oil and gas industry.


Over time, you will become adept at valuing oil and gas assets, and understand the key issues that inform that valuation.

You will also begin to form opinions on corporate strategies, business environment, exploration, M&A deals, petroleum economics, government energy policy and regional geopolitics.


Qualifications:


About you and how you can excel in this role
You will have a keen eye for quality and take pride in the work that you produce.

You will support the team in delivering its weekly and quarterly data sets to our clients and will take an active role in ensuring both the quality and timeliness of the data set.


You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, which have been proven in your academic and work experience to date.

You are comfortable collecting and interpreting data and articulating your findings clearly and insightfully. You also have a flair for writing and communication. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.

Your long-term aspiration is to be an influential expert setting the industry agenda by leveraging data analytics.
