Would you like to work in a varied and interesting role which contributes to improving the lives of young people? Do you have fast and accurate typing skills, along with excellent written communication and listening skills? If so, we would like to hear from you

It's an exciting time to join our small, flexible and motivated team.

This varied role will involve taking and typing up notes from a range of meetings, conferences and panels which comprise a number of attendees including young people and their families, social workers, carers and professional colleagues.

As you will come into contact with vulnerable children and families, you will be exposed to highly sensitive and personal information so confidentiality is essential and resilience to be able to cope with sometimes challenging content and to work under pressure.

This position has arisen as one of our team members is embarking on an exciting alternate career.

Responsibilities:

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work from a work-related site two days per week, with the arrangements for part-time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

We are committed to being a more inclusive employer - to ensure we can consider any reasonable adjustments, please either contact the recruiting manager to discuss any individual circumstances, discuss at interview or, if you prefer, after any conditional offer is made.

The Individual:

You will need pace and energy to succeed, excellent IT skills, self-motivated and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work due to the timings of some meetings which may require an early start / late finish.

You will also, on occasion, be required to drive to meeting locations (therefore a driving licence is required, you will have access to a pool car).

We support and encourage employees learning and development and there are many opportunities to progress your career within the Council.

We also offer a good working environment and excellent employee benefits.

Please APPLY ONLINE. Facilities are available at all public libraries in Perth and Kinross. If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please call to discuss.

As part of our safer recruitment measures, Perth & Kinross Council carries out rigorous checks on the right to work in the UK, qualifications, employment history, including references, and fitness to undertake the post.

A healthy work life balance is important to Perth & Kinross Council and we provide supportive management and flexible working arrangements to help you achieve a healthy work life balance.

You will have access to training and support for continued professional development.
