About the roleThe Early Intervention Service is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to provide and deliver bespoke packages of support to parents/grandparents/carers who have been referred into the project by police in order to enable families to become confident, nurturing, resilient and safe.


This project is being developed in line with the Children Act 2020 and Section 1 (abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) which comes in to force as of 21st March 2022.

The aim of the project is to protect children's rights under the United Nations Convention on the Right of the Child (UNCRC) Article 19.

The intended outcome of the Children Act 2020 is to raise awareness and support for parents for further reduction and tolerance of physical punishment.


The project will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of bespoke packages of support to parents who have been referred to the project by Police as an alternative to prosecution through courts, receiving and processing referrals from Police, co-ordination of support services for families where needed, working in partnership with Police, with the aim of reducing re-offending and promoting the rights of the child in-line with UNCRC (Article 19) in order to build stronger and more resilient families and communities.
