This is an exciting opportunity for a senior strategic role that requires the post holder to work across two Local Public Health teams, building and delivering a systems-wide approach to obesity prevention on a regional basis across both Swansea Bay University Health Board and Hywel Dda University Health Board.


The role will be responsible for leading the development of effective strategic partnerships and networks with relevant statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations at a local and regional level, to plan cohesively for health improvement and provide leadership and direction for partnership programmes and initiatives to promote health and wellbeing across all sectors.


The post holder is responsible for providing highly specialised advice and expertise on the development of the public health/ health promotion strategy, policy and practice, with a particular emphasis on systems working for obesity prevention.

The post holder is responsible for leading, planning, implementing and evaluating public health/ health promotion programmes in line with the Healthy Weight:
Healthy Wales strategy.


Through the facilitation of effective cross-sectoral and cross-regional partnership working, the post holder has a key role in the design and delivery of key strategic plans across partnerships and advises and supports partners in the development and implementation of effective approaches to improving and protecting the health of the local population.
