Description

As a Youth Support Worker for children with complex needs, your role is to provide assistance, guidance, and support to young people who require additional help due to their specific challenges and circumstances.

This role typically involves working with children and teenagers who may have physical disabilities, mental health issues, behavioural and learning disabilities, or other complex needs.

Here are some key responsibilities and tasks you may have as a Youth Support Worker:

Assessing and planning: Conduct assessments to determine the individual needs of each young person and develop personalized support plans accordingly. Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, and teachers, to gather information and create comprehensive strategies.
Emotional support: Offer emotional support and create a safe and understanding environment where young people feel comfortable discussing their concerns, fears, and aspirations. Help them develop coping mechanisms and resilience to overcome challenges.
Practical assistance: Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management, depending on the specific needs of the children you support.

Requirements:

Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
We are looking for someone who doesn't necessarily have a lot of experience but is passionate and devoted to providing support to children with complex needs.
There is no need for a formal education or degree, just compassion and willingness to look after SEN children with complex needs and physical disabilities.
Background in care would be highly advantageous as you would possess a number of transferable skills for this role.
