Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Specialist Cover supervisor to join a "Good" Alternative Provision Secondary School in Blackpool.

Position Overview:


As a Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the teaching staff in delivering engaging sports and physical education sessions, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development.

You will work closely with students, providing guidance, motivation, and assistance during sports activities and ensuring their safety at all times.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver sports and physical education lessons.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students.
  • Provide oneonone or small group support to students during sports activities, ensuring their active participation and progress.
  • Monitor students' behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Encourage students to develop positive attitudes, resilience, and sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to organise extracurricular sports events and activities.
  • Provide feedback and progress reports to teachers and parents as required.
  • Keep uptodate records of student's attendance, achievements, and behaviour.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or coaching capacity.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for sports, physical education, and fitness.
  • Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to challenging situations.
  • Understanding of behavioural management strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and clearances.
