About the Role:
Putnoe Medical Centre is currently looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to work at Putnoe Medical Centre.
Your weekly hours will be approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Applicants will be expected to work as part of our friendly Practice team and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide health education and advice to patients and access to appropriate patient information
- To maintain supplies and equipment in all clinical rooms and to ensure these areas comply with Health & Safety requirements. including supporting the weekly Medical Equipment Cleaning Rota, maintaining stocks of consumables used in the clinical rooms and reordering stock items.
- NHS Health Checks ( CVD Risk) date entry via Ardens template
- ECG recording
- Basic Dressings
- Weight loss referrals
- BP reviews
- Assist with Sphere Sexual Health Clinics and Minor op Clinics
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
- To ensure that clinical waste within the practice is collected, handled and disposed of safely and in accordance with Regulation
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing, such as recalling and booking patients and undertaking blood pressure checks

You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Healthcare qualification or equivalent level
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting and with the general public
- Be able to perform venepuncture, ECG's and the treatment of small injuries/simple wound care
- Experience of SystmOne clinical system
- Experience of Microsoft Office software
- Experience of dealing with the public/patients
- Experience of working within a nursing team.

We are a GP practice and Walk in Centre located in Bedford with 16500 registered patients. We are a large Practice with enthusiastic friendly staff in our team.
