We are currently working with a reputable Council in the Midlands who are require the interim support of a
Court of Protection and Appointee Manager.

Remote Working Available
**Purpose

  • Manage the property and financial affairs of a number of vulnerable adults
  • Through an appointeeship granted by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) or a deputyship granted by the Court of Protection (CoP)
  • Provide advice and support to the Adult Social Care (ASC) directorate
  • Provide support to the ASC Finance team on appointee and deputyship issues
**Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the property and financial affairs of a number of vulnerable adults
, either through an Appointeeship granted by the DWP, or a Deputyship granted by the CoP

  • Review and advise social work teams on the completeness of new appointee and deputyship referrals
  • Liaise as appropriate with other parties if deputyships are transferred or client regains capacity
  • Liaise with executors of the estate on the death of any client
  • Ensure deputyship client assets (cash, pensions etc.) are safeguarded once deputyship is granted
  • Ensure client financial records are effectively maintained, and complete and promptly submit annual returns
  • Process, and manage appropriately, the payment of costs, allowances and care contributions
  • Experience of working in a financial, legal or similar environment to deliver agreed outcomes
  • Experience of working in a customer facing service
  • Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults and social worker teams
  • Experience of understanding and interpreting regulations and relevant legislation
