Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a 6-month secondment for a Band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team providing out-patient neurological rehabilitation.

The post would predominantly be based at Nottingham City Hospital but there may be a requirement for occasional work across at the Queens Medical Centre campus.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and interested in gaining experience in this specialist clinical area.

As well as hands -on rehabilitation working with both our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, the support worker assists the team with administrative tasks.

Being computer literate with a willingness to learn the use of a range of hospital ICT systems would also be important in this role.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working in a rehabilitation or care setting, who is a good team player, compassionate and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.

Main duties of the job

You will work alongside the physiotherapist to help patients to improve their ability to move and to balance and to walk where this is possible.

You will work alongside the occupational therapist to help patients improve their ability to carry out a wide range of activities of daily living (ADL).

The therapy support worker will implement rehabilitation plans designed for each patient according to their needs. The plans will include individual sessions with patients as well as some group sessions.

You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of rehabilitation for patients, as well as delegated admin duties.

The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction and regular supervision within supportive and caring teams, as well as being supported to learn and continuously develop through in-service training.

You will actively participate in service improvement, training, supervision and appraisal to continually develop your skills.
