Avanti Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced manufacturing team leader to join a well-established and ever-growing business based in County Durham.


Key Responsibilities:


General and Task Management:


  • Lead team and support in producing products on time to customer expected quality.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Provide training to new starters and operators in training and communicate training matrix updates.
  • Monitor, measure and report on KPI performance of the team highlighting issues.
  • Proactively encourage and develop the team.
  • Focal point for communication to the team.
  • Identify and lead lean improvements driving continuous improvements.
  • Cost focussed to maximise efficiencies.

Self-Management:


  • Lead by example to operators.
  • Always abide by safety and quality standards.
  • Make productive contributions.
  • Team player with positive effect on team.
  • Selfmotivated and hard working.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
  • Shows openness, honesty and awareness towards others.

Skills and Attributes:


  • Ability to work across multiple areas within production.
  • Able to lead, coach and train team.
  • Able to work on own initiative when necessary.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Able to problem solve.
  • Able to deal with multiple tasks.
  • Create a continuous improvement culture within the team.
  • Lead and be accountable for projects such as 5S and lean improvements.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to share experience throughout the team.
  • Have a sound background and knowledge of products and customer expectations of products.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Good standard of English and maths.
  • MS office and database experience desirable.
  • Over two years' experience of manufacturing supervision.
  • Understanding of lean and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Lean six sigma green belt desirable but not essential.
This fantastic opportunity offers a four day working week, paid overtime and a route to progression within the organisation.

£14.00 per hour
