Job summary:


  • The Prime Minister's Office enables the Prime Minster to deliver the Government's overall priorities and to communicate the Government's policies to Parliament, the public and international audiences. From the Policy Unit, Press Office, Switchboard and Custodians, to the Events & Visits team and the Private Office support; the diverse Downing Street team draws on varied expertise from across the Civil Service and beyond. The teams come together to deliver excellent service to the Prime Minister while also making No10 a great place to work.

Job description:


The Front of House team, which sits within the wider Events and Visits team, is responsible for providing a professional and customer-focused support for events and meetings in No.10, in addition to general day-to-day activities within the House.


Responsibilities of the role

  • Support to the Prime Minister both in No.10 and the House of Commons.
  • Logistical support, in collaboration with other teams within the House, in particular: Events and Visits, Facilities Management, Custodians and Security.
  • Greeting, escorting, and providing high quality tours to guests.
  • Providing refreshments for PM and seniorlevel meetings.
  • Providing support for Leader inward visits.
  • Support on PM overseas visits.
  • Weekly setting up and hosting of Cabinet.
  • Handling of the PM Box, collection of visas, handdelivering ministerial messages around Whitehall.

Person specification:


Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Good facetoface communication skills.
  • A cando attitude and willingness to get involved with tasks no matter how big or small.

Desirable Skills & Experience:


  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customerfacing setting preferred but not essential.

Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
