About us

  • The Science Museum Group (SMG) is here to inspire futures, and through our world class digital content, we hope to ignite curiosity and encourage the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
  • SMG is looking for an experienced Video Producer to create innovative new video content and help grow the SMG Learning online offer. In this role you will support the Digital Learning team by producing video content for our Wonderlab+ website and YouTube channel, as well as the SMG Learning Resources website, YouTube channel and social media. You will work with Learning, Comms and external suppliers to ensure that all video content is creative, engaging, accurate, and delivered on time and on budget.

About the role

  • As Video Producer (Learning), you will produce, shoot and edit engaging video content for Learning audiences. You will collaborate with colleagues in Learning and other departments to creative treatments, manage feedback and obtain signoff, booking all locations and contributors, setting up transport and managing budgets for each project. You will also commission and manage external production companies and other freelancers to deliver video, audio and other content where necessary.

About you

  • We're looking for someone teeming with ideas, as well the technical expertise to execute them both independently and in tandem with external suppliers. You'll have a track record of creating successful video content for similar, wellestablished channels and an excellent understanding of how to create content for a younger audience. You will take a usercentred, testandlearn approach to your work and have a passion for science and technology.
