Fleet Compliance Supervisor Opportunity
Part of our Logistics team, reporting in to the National Transport Compliance Manager

£32,000 annual salary, Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

Doncaster (Redhouse Interchange) site

We are the largest independent pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK with a fast growing international network supplying medicines to meet patient needs and providing a route to market for manufacturers.

We are fully managed and regulatory compliant, sourcing imported medicines for specific patient needs. The company is experiencing growth at the moment, providing a much needed healthcare service.


Role Overview:


We currently have an exciting opportunity within our high-performing logistics team for a Fleet Compliance Supervisor to have responsibility for the Mawdsleys fleet management and compliance across all operating centres.

You will be supporting divisional Transport Managers & Supervisors, whilst proactively managing policies and procedures.

This role will be responsible for the management of our fleet suppliers and maintenance providers to ensure that we operate within the required regulatory guidelines and maintains an ever-present focus on both operator licence (DVSA) adherence and MHRA compliance.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all Mawdsleys assets are maintained to correct industry/business standards to make sure they are running smoothly, safely and efficiently.
  • Attend all Mawdsleys sites as required to support and assist in all fleet management aspects.
  • Work closely with Transport Managers and Supervisors across the business to ensure a standardised approach to fleet compliance is maintained across the business.
  • Attend audits as required to represent the fleet operation.
  • Ensure all aspects of our Operator Licence remain compliant with all DVSA requirements and business agreed processes.
  • Work with internal departments to facilitate our ADR policy and ensure that no products in scope are listed as stock items / available to be delivered on our vehicles.
  • Ensure that operations are carried out in adherence to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) principles.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with external fleet suppliers and maintenance providers.
  • Focus and work toward mínimal assets being VOR, seek replacement assets where needed to keep operation teams well resourced.
  • Conduct regular driver licence checks inline with company policy for all Mawdsleys sites.
  • Lead fleet operations by example championing the business values.
  • Maintain, analyse and provide all relevant data for fleet accident management.
  • Working closely with our finance team in reviewing, scrutinise and challenge fleet costs for all Mawdsleys sites.
  • Draft, modify and implement SOPs as required.
  • Develop systems both existing and new to enhance fleet compliance and safety standards in all areas.
  • Promote patient safety in line with the guidance and advice provided by the quality team and controlled by the business quality management system.
  • Work alongside Driver Trainers to provide training recommendations where required.
  • Assist the operations team in the safe movement of pharmaceuticals throughout the supply chain.
  • Champion Health & Safety in all aspects of the operation ensuring that the company zero accident culture is promoted.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside the company, as well as evolving best practices in fleet operations.
  • Inspire and lead a culture of fleet compliance and safety.
  • Inspires commitment to the company, their services, and future success.
  • Be an integral part of the logistics team across the wider business building relationships and a teamwork ethos.
