The function is responsible for ensuring a resilient and robust operating environment and improving service delivery to the business units through Transaction Cycles and driving a more commercial mindset across the Group.
About CIB Chief Data OfficeCIB Chief Data Office is a team of data experts driving positive change in the trust and use of our data across the business:
- Ensures adherence to the Barclays Data & Records Management Strategy, Policy, and Standards
- Drives a consistent approach for managing and using data across the business
- Governs new uses of data to drive commercial benefits and deliver value across the organisation
- Leads data management and design delivery to support strategic initiatives
- Partners with stakeholders to drive improvements in the understanding, use and quality of data
This role is an evolving role which will lead the Markets Data Office to ensure responsibilities defined in the Group Data Policy and Standards are understood and effectively managed across Markets working in partnership with primary stakeholders, bridging the gap between business and technology.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversight, review, challenge and leadership of a team of Data Business Partners, ensuring they are effectively partnering with the business and providing value add advisory capability for data, representing Advisory & Assessment at relevant Committees, Forums and Working Groups.
- Lead engagement for business data strategy, data usage pipeline, new product approvals and strategic change, identifying risks to assist the business in understanding, managing and use of data in line with their business strategy and objectives.
- Define and own the stakeholder engagement model for CIB Data Domains and any interlock partnerships.
- Manage communications to stakeholders, ensuring they are actively engaged, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and proactively managed.
- Be recognised as an expert in metadata management ensuring adherence to the Group Metadata Standard across CIB Data Domains.
- Responsible for delivery of endtoend book of work across all CIB CDO Data Business Partners, managing dependencies and delivering to expectations, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement to evolve metadata management, recommending automation or simplification enhancements across impacted activities and processes.
