About this role:


EMEA Compliance at Wells Fargo consists of Advisory and Central Compliance Teams which provide Compliance support to Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking and Enterprise functions in the UK, and across the wider Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)Region.

The Central Compliance Team provides shared services (including regulatory development, policy support and training) throughout the region across all businesses and functions.


In this role, you will:

This role within EMEA Compliance is to enable CIB Macro to meet their regulatory obligations.


Advisory:


  • Act as trusted advisor CIB Macro on all regulatory compliance issues in EMEA, focused primarily on conduct and governance requirements.
  • Proactively manage conduct risks advising business partners and Senior Management on how to manage such risks.
  • Work closely with the EMEA CIB Macro Business Manager and US Desk Business Managers.
  • Work with Compliance partners in CIB particularly CIB Swap Dealer Compliance and the Markets IFS Senior Compliance Officer to support the management of Compliance risks associated with Macro in EMEA.

Compliance Programme:


  • In conjunction with the EMEA Central Compliance team ensure there is a fit for purpose compliance programme designed to support CIB Macro, which is aligned to the Enterprise Compliance Policy
  • Draft policies and procedures where required to support the Compliance programme
  • Recommend and act as an advocate for developing improved surveillance concerning Macro products and in general support the development of surveillance in EMEA.
  • Advise the Regional Testing team on key risks and priorities for review.
  • Provide Compliance training where required to EMEA CIB Macro Team Members and act as an SME in respect of related Conduct issues affecting those businesses.

Regulatory Development:


  • Advise EMEA CIB Macro on forthcoming regulation.
  • Work with the Regulatory Development enhance horizon scanning for EMEA CIB Macro.
  • Act as an advocate & leader to ensure regulatory change programmes impacting are initiated.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory change programmes that impact EMEA CIB Macro businesses, i.e. MAR, MiFID II, EMIR and Dodd Frank.

Escalation and Management:


  • Identify critical partners particularly within CIB and proactively develop relationships across Wells Fargo to ensure positive outcomes for the control environment impacting CIB Macro in EMEA.
  • Identify and offer strategic solutions to improve Regulatory Compliance for CIB Macro in EMEA.
  • Escalate issues concerning CIB Macro to Senior Management in EMEA.
  • Prepare reporting for relevant Boards and Committees and present at those meetings where required.
  • Work with the Head of Regional Compliance in addressing any issues arising FCA and other regulatory examinations concerning Conflicts of Interest and other regulatory issues associated with CIB Macro.
  • Act as mentor to junior members of the EMEA Compliance team.

Required Qualifications:

Communication:

- excellent interpersonal, communication (written and presentation) skills and organizational abilities are essential with an ability to liaise professionally and with diplomacy across all levels of staff in clear and succinctmanner. Ability to build relationships and trust especially with senior Investment Banking staff.

Legal / Regulatory Development -Educated to degree level ideally with auditing / legal or strong Regulatory Advisory or Regulatory Consulting background gained at a top tier wholesale bank or major consultancy firm (i.e. banking / productknowledge is required).

Regulatory knowledge:


  • Expert knowledge of UK / EMEA /US regulatory environment including MAD, MiFID, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, FX Global Code, UK Money Market Code.

Product knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates Swaps, Money Market and fixed income products.

Global Outlook:


  • Proven ability to work in global teams across multiple regions including EMEA.

- proven track record of working collaboratively across multiple business lines and with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels but also of taking the lead as needs dictate. An ability to motivate team membersfor common progress is essential.

- ability to manage multiple requests for information and handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner in a fast paced deadline driven environment.

- including Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
