Blackpool

Permanent position

£55,000 - £65,000
My client is a specialist civil engineering, construction and facilities management company. They undertake newbuild and refurbishment schemes as well as long-term contracts to operate and maintain assets and facilities. Their clients include national government,local authorities, transport bodies, hospitals, universities, housing providers, retailers and commercial firms in every sector.


As the Construction Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising subcontractors and direct labour and technical staff
  • Planning, scheduling, procuring, and delivering the project effectively, often to a tight schedule
  • Drawing up a detailed plan of how to achieve each stage of the project, as well as an overall plan
  • Ensure a project team is in place and manage that team throughout the progress of the whole project
  • Ensure that each stage of the project is progressing on time and on budget and identify any issues that may prevent this from happening
  • Responsible for reporting regularly on the progress of the project to the client and/or to the senior managers
  • Managing all health and safety
  • Liaising with the client team and consultants
  • Identify what the client wants to achieve
  • Agree timescales, costs and resources needed, with the client
  • Working to the contract (NEC)

About you:


  • Relevant qualifications and previous experience as a Construction Manager including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
  • Full understanding of procurement including preparation of specifications and current Health & Safety legislation for general construction.
  • Sound judgement and problemsolving skills.
  • Commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Be able to prepare comprehensive technical reports.
  • Experience working on industrial units
