MPA are currently recruiting a Waste and Sustainability Officer on behalf of our client based in the Antrim / Newtownabbey area.

What the role entails:
Responsible to the Waste Contracts Manager for contributing to the Councils responsibilities through assisting with the monitoring, administration and management of the procurement and operation of contracts.
Manage the delivery of the Council's Environmental and Sustainable Actions such as Climate Action Plan, Environmental Management Systems, Fairtrade Borough, Litter Action Plan etc and wider resource and environmental sustainability policies, plans and projects.
Implement and assist in the delivery for the development of various new initiatives, schemes, and projects to meet environmental targets and legislative requirements.

planning and implementation of project objectives and enhancing service
delivery.
Manage the collation and submission of statutory data returns. Identifying, analysing and monitoring performance trends.
Promote environmental awareness on a range of issues and more specifically waste management, climate action and sustainability to assist the Council in meeting legislative and performance targets.
Essential Criteria
Consideration may be given to those who do not hold the above qualification but who can demonstrate 3 years as set out below.
A minimum of 1 years' experience in:
a) Contract management
b) Project management
c) Delivery of waste/resource and/or environmental sustainability projects
d) Working with contractors, external and internal stakeholders to ensure quality services
e) Data collation and analysis
f) Finance and budget analysis
g) Experience in the production of reports
Salary:
£18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
