SEND Teaching Assistant Role

The School Setting

  • This is an opportunity to join a friendly school who work with children with complex needs. They are proud to offer a supportive curriculum that helps their students to develop into the happy, confident and ambitious adults for the rest of their lives.
Within this school they have a team of supportive experts in Speech and Language therapy. They work closely with external agencies to provide quality care for their students. _


SEND Teaching Assistant - Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring school rules are adhered to
  • Rewarding work supporting students with students with complex needs
  • Offering support and empathy to children requiring assistance
  • Reporting health and safety issues onsite to the maintenance team to resolve
  • Communicating effectively with teachers/children about any concerns or issues
  • Risk assessing the environment and responding accordingly
  • Observing behaviour, intervening and addressing when necessary, reporting any safeguarding issues through the correct channels

Experience, Training & Qualifications

  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • First Aid Training (desirable)
  • Subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or overseas Police clearances (if applicable)
