SEND Teaching Assistant Role

The School Setting

This is an opportunity to join a friendly school who work with children with complex needs. They are proud to offer a supportive curriculum that helps their students to develop into the happy, confident and ambitious adults for the rest of their lives.

Within this school they have a team of supportive experts in Speech and Language therapy. They work closely with external agencies to provide quality care for their students. _

SEND Teaching Assistant - Job Responsibilities

Ensuring school rules are adhered to
Rewarding work supporting students with students with complex needs
Offering support and empathy to children requiring assistance
Reporting health and safety issues onsite to the maintenance team to resolve
Communicating effectively with teachers/children about any concerns or issues
Risk assessing the environment and responding accordingly
Observing behaviour, intervening and addressing when necessary, reporting any safeguarding issues through the correct channels

Legal right to work in the UK
First Aid Training (desirable)
Subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or overseas Police clearances (if applicable)
