Salary:
G8, £34,834 - £39,186 per annum


This role is an important part of the Council's Community Safety Team and will be integral to supporting the Community Safety service to deliver against the Safer Walsall Partnership agenda.

The successful applicant will support the implementation and development of a range of community safety initiatives and play a key role in Walsall's Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) process.

The postholder will support the management of partnership funding, including the development of funding proposals and act as secretary to the Safer Walsall Partnership Board.


This is an exciting time to join what is a relatively new team, to support the development and delivery of community safety work and make a real difference to the communities of Walsall.

The postholder will be experienced in partnership working and have experience and knowledge of Domestic Abuse legislation and in particular that relating to DHR's.


The role and work will support the Council's Resilient Communities model, which is a strength-based approach that, where appropriate, utilises individuals and communities to support themselves and underpins that support with integrated services and integrated enforcement.


The post holder will be responsible for

  • Supporting the development and delivery of community safety multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Supporting the effective delivery of Domestic Homicide Reviews in Walsall in line with Home Office statutory guidance and Walsall DHR process, including the commissioning of independent Chairs/Authors and liaising with the Home Office DHR Quality Assurance Panel.
  • Support the management of the finances of the Safer Walsall Partnership/Community Safety Team including budget/project monitoring and liaising with the Police and Crime Commissioner's Office.
  • Acting as clerk and providing support to the Safer Walsall Partnership Board, including minute taking and the progressing/tracking of actions.
  • Supporting the Community Safety Manager and broader Community Safety Team.


Applicants will have experience of working in a partnership environment and have extensive knowledge of the legislative background for domestic abuse.

They will also have a thorough understanding of crime and disorder legislative requirements.
