Full Time, Fixed Term Positions (to end of March 2025)

- South Locality

- North Locality

- East and Central Locality
We have 6 exciting new roles that have been developed as part of Bristol's Family Hub transformation programme.

Family hubs provide families with a single access point to integrated family support services for early help with social, emotional, physical and financial needs.

Each family hub is bespoke to its local community while incorporating three key delivery principles:
access, connection, relationships.

As a Family Hub Navigator you will be the first point of contact for children and families and act as a "bridge" between the community and Family Hub services across the locality you are in and to promote family support services to diverse communities.

You will be passionate about supporting families, parents, carers, children and young people, helping them to strengthen their support networks, give advice and guidance and access the right support at the right time.

You will need to be an excellent communicator and have strong engagement skills in order to build relationships with a wide variety of community members and services.

You will know and understand Bristol's diverse community and will be able to promote good equalities practice, and value diversity across the service.

You will be self-motivated, creative and innovative in your approach to engagement and have a passion for work with children and families.

You will work as part of a strong multi-disciplinary team, have opportunities for professional development and will receive regular supervision.

You will need to be able to work in a flexible way that will include some evening and weekends. You will be confident in delivering support both virtually and face to face.

Why Bristol City Council?

At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation.

For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.

Join us and you'll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.

In addition, you'll be working in a supportive environment where you'll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.

How do I apply?

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
If you want to be part of shaping these exciting new roles we would like to hear from you.
