Profile Criteria:


  • Fixed Assets experience is essential
  • Cost accounting experience ideal
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
  • Confident user of Excel with Oracle or Hyperion being a beneficial (but not essential)
  • Good communication and influencing skills with stakeholder management experience
  • Large company background preferred, whether in financial services or nonfinancial services sector (construction sector experience would be welcome)

Role Summary
Management Accountant within the Cost Accounting team.

This role is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate month end close of the EMEA Service Companies and fixed assets.


Responsibilities:


  • Full ownership and reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register and project WIP.
  • Manage the monthly accounting associated to the Fixed Register and WIP, including depreciation, impairment review and disposals.
  • Work in partnership with other members of the team in ensuring maintenance of accounting for Work in Progress and Project expenditure in accordance with the internal policies and Accounting Standards.
  • Assisting with month end processes including the preparation of a flash, full provision of accruals and prepayments, review of headcount and staff costs, and commentary on actuals vs. Budget/Forecast and Prior year variances.
  • Manage the Accruals and Prepayments across various functions, working closely with colleagues within the team and stakeholders across the business.
  • Manage the internal charging of Travel and Events costs, ensuring the correct cost centres are charged.
  • Assist colleagues with the Forecast and Budget process.
  • Review existing month end processes for opportunities to automate and improve in partnership with Finance systems IT.
  • Work with other members of the team and the wider EMEA Finance to ensure all controls are fit for purpose with monthly reconciliations and substantiations appropriately, prepared documented and recorded in the system.
  • Work closely with Procurement on Purchase Orders and required approvals.
  • Assist with managing Intercompany reconciliations with counterparts at month end.
  • Yearend/Half year reporting, which will include preparation of support for Group additional disclosures and assisting with External Audit requests.
  • Provide support and analysis to any ad hoc requests from Finance management.
  • Through cross training, be able to provide support to team members.

Experience / Competencies:


  • Experience of Fixed Asset reporting within a large corporation (must have).
  • Management of Accruals and Prepayments across various functions.
  • Knowledge VAT and partial recovery rates preferable, not essential.
  • Service company intercompany accounting.
  • Personal organizational skills including multitasking, prioritization and delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Conscientious, selfmotivated, resilient, goal oriented and able to work autonomously with mínimal daily supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality and control and understanding the impact the role has on the wider business.
  • Hands approach, working and supporting other areas of the team as needed.
  • Ability to react to changing requirements and adjust process and approach.
  • Skilled in system or process improvements.
  • Indepth knowledge of what a good control environment looks like.
  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
