Logistics Assistant

Full time permanent role - office based

Mon-Fri

North Chailey. Due to rural workplace location it is essential to drive and have your own transport. Plenty of free parking onsite.


Salary:
£27000 plus very good company benefits


We are delighted to be working alongside our successful and established client as they seek to seek a Logistics, Planning and Operations Assistant on a permanent basis.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or FCMG business would be a bonus, but is notessential.


The role:

My client is seeking an adaptable logistics / planning assistant to support the Supply Chain Manager and Technical Operations Manager with production planning, procurement and company supply chain


My client runs a busy manufacturing facility, and this is a fast-paced role which is key to supporting the central business areas and ensuring a smooth operation.

This is a heavily computer-based role, so strong computer literacy and the ability to pickup and champion new systems and databases is a must.

They operate in a heavily regulated industry, so strong attention to detail is key.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Work with the Supply Chain Manager to monitor stock levels and plan production on a weekly and daily basis. Ensure strong stock levels are maintained across all product lines.

Schedule production jobs into demand plan and scheduling systems. Adjust production jobs based on shifting priorities

Assist with ordering materials, packaging, stock, and other items.

This includes raising purchase orders, ordering goods, booking transport, loading goods into the relevant systems, and maintaining all relevant paperwork including delivery notes and commercialdocuments.

Keep all systems and databases up to date to ensure stock and purchase order information is consistently accurate.

Communicate with Customer Service and Sales, keeping all stakeholders informed of stock levels and production schedules.

Interpret stock take data and update stock daily.

Assist with transporting stock to and from third-party warehouses and logistics providers using relevant systems.

Gain in-depth knowledge of products, customers, and demand across company brands.

Gain detailed understanding of the various stock, demand and other IT systems used in the business.

Assisting with export orders:
ensure correct documents are completed fully, carry out paperwork checks, book transport, and update relevant stakeholders with progress.


Qualifications and skills required:

Strong administrative experience and IT literacy.

Comfortable using the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

Proactive and adaptable.

Due to the nature of the business, priorities and plans may change last minute, so it is essential to be able to adapt quickly.

Analytical with very close attention to detail.

Experience in a logistics / planning role is a bonus but not a must. The most crucial attribute is a willingness and ability to learn quickly.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or FCMG business would be a bonus, but is not essential

Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
