About the Role


As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our modules on Sports Therapy, which might include clinical supervision, and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.


You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.


About You


You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

You should be an experienced and effective academic and/or practitioner with an appreciation and understanding of the competencies defined by our accrediting body the Society of Sports Therapists.


We embed sports science and physical therapy principles within our programmes, and thus experienced academics and/or practitioners from the applied sports sciences and musculoskeletal oriented allied health professions are also a good fit.

A desire to provide a high-quality learning experience is essential, and your teaching will be informed by your practical and/or research experiences.

An established research profile aligned specifically to research in sports injury management, prevention, rehabilitation, etc. is advantageous, however research mentorship will be provided to enable your contribution to the sports therapy team.

An interest therefore in disseminating research that complements the existing research strands within the Sports Injuries research group is essential, as is a willingness to contribute to a growing capacity for post-graduate supervision of graduate sports therapists.
