A national Approved Inspector seeks a Building Control Inspector to take on a full spectrum of commercial projects in the North West.

Building Control InspectorRole Overview
To deliver a highly technical service in line with Standard Operating Procedures and QA systems.
To act as a senior member of the building control team in the provision of support and mentorship, effective delivery of projects, whilst taking a proactive role in contributing towards business growth.
Building Control InspectorResponsibilities:
- Support and advise commercial clients about building / property issues in line with UK Building Regulations and related legislation
- Ownership of a region, working with suitably qualified and experienced Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors on complex and largescale projects
- Act as a Technical Authority across complex projects and plan assessments encompassing all building types in line with qualifications and technical ability
- Carry out inspections of work on a wide range of projects; checking plans, drawings and associated information to ensure Building Regulations compliance
- Close awareness of fee flows and financial management of regional office, taking the lead in mitigating actions where appropriate
- Participation in management training
- Contribution to business development targets through engagement with project stakeholders, with effective progression of leads, in addition to provision of thought leadership on key topics
- To provide technical assistance to the Marketing Team in the production of literature
- Deputise for Managing Surveyors / Associate Directors as required
- Bid and quote preparation
- Ensure accurate recording of all project and inspection records
- Develop and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Carry out duties in accordance with QA procedures
- Attend relevant training sessions and maintain personal CPD
Requirements:
- Preferably qualified to degree level in Building Control / Building Surveying
- Capability within a similar role
- Experience of working for an Approved Inspector in Building Control, with exposure to commercial clients
- Indepth understanding of commercial Building Control and Fire Safety
- RICS/CABE/CIOB member status
- Able to encourage others to develop new skills
- Able to think both globally and locally when developing and communicating objectives and strategies
- Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there
- Strong analytical skills
- Commercially astute
- Excellent clientfacing and presentation ability
- Excellent relationship building skills with ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
