Fracture Clinic are excited to announce a new vacancy for a Trainee Casting Practitioner to join our team based in the Nottingham Treatment Centre.


The Fracture Clinic is part of the speciality of Trauma and Orthopaedics, our Fracture Clinic is forward facing providing outpatient care to Trauma and Orthopaedic patients.

Care is provided to a very diverse range of patients including trauma, major trauma, elective orthopaedics and plastic surgery patients.

Our approach is multi-disciplinary and no day is ever the same. We work closely with A&E, Theatres, inpatient wards, primary care. and paediatrics. The clinic works closely with the trauma nurse practitioners.

You will be required to maintain an awareness of the developments in the care and treatment of patients in order to be able to carry out duties competently and efficiently.

The Fracture clinic cares for Orthopaedic patients ranging from follow up appointments and traumatic injury.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role will involve working our Plaster rooms at Treatment centre and QMC. You will be expected to support other areas of the Trust as and when required with regards to plastering.


Effective communication channels are important and must be aware of the need for confidentiality both in the written and spoken word.

  • Experience and knowledge of wound care management to include traumatic and postoperative wounds
Desirable criteria

  • Understanding of common orthopaedic conditions and injuries

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
