Sewell Wallis are working with a fast growing and successful Practice in London who are looking to recruit an experienced Private Client Manager.

Our client offers a range of services including Accounting, Corporate Finance, Audit, Tax and R&D and this is a pivotal role within the firm.

Working alongside the Head of Private Clients, you will have a experience of management accounts, VAT and compliance, as well as having a strong managerial background and your role will include managing the London portfolio of high net worth and high-profileclients.

The client base is diverse and really exciting, including well-known sports personalities, musicians, TV/film actors, hospitality/fashion clients, Art Galleries and creative industries.

The successful applicant will have the autonomy to shape their own career within a tight-knit, innovative, start-up style environment, but with the support and guidance of the wider Compliance, Tax and Wealth Management teams of a top 50 firm.

You will be passionate about acting as a mentor and coach to a small, dedicated team of trainees, semi-seniors and newly qualified staff.


Your key responsibilities will also include:

  • Overseeing the management and development of an accounts team through effective supervision and training to help you deliver an exceptional service to a portfolio of key clients.
Managing a portfolio of up to 250 clients
Assisting with business development and bringing in new clients to the London office
Managing all work in progress and billing for your clients ensuring monthly targets are met Managing the team, appraisals etc, staff feedback
Reviewing all year end and management accounts files and working papers completed by your team and ensure review points are clearly fed back
Organising and leading weekly team meetings to discuss client deadlines, workload/planner and billing targets.
Attending client meetings, building excellent working relationships and actively highlighting any cross-selling opportunities for the wider group
Keeping up to date with latest legislation and feedback across the group when necessary


Requirements:

Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA or be QBE with substantial experience within a practice environment where main duties have related to statutory year end accounts
Experience of preparing and reviewing complex financial reporting packs
Up to date experience of accounting and reporting software, including app stacks
Ability to build strengthen and build credible relationships with current and future external stakeholders
A genuine interest in a highly client focused role and willingness to make a positive contribution
Strong leadership skills and a strong desire to coach and develop team members
Flexible and proactive approach to work and the ability to work under pressure
Experience dealing with charity statutory requirements and accounts would be desirable
