Description

The NICE Centre for Guidelines is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Health Economist to guide the organisation through this period of dynamic transformation.

Contract type:
Permanent

Location:
Manchester or London

Reporting to the Health Economic Adviser, the Senior Health Economist will be responsible for providing advice and technical support to committees on health economic issues during development and updating of guidelines.

This includes systematically identifying and appraising economic evidence to address key health and social care questions and preparing structured summaries of the evidence.

The post holder will undertake the development of original decision analytical models to inform the deliberations of the guideline committee (comprising decision-makers who are predominantly clinical, public health, social care and patient experts with limited formal expertise in health economics).

The post holder will also be involved in reviewing guidelines produced by other developers to ensure they reflect the economic evidence appropriately.

This function also includes ensuring that economic modelling and statistical analyses produced by the developer have been conducted robustly, are in line with NICE's methods and are free from technical errors.

There will also be the opportunity to mentor junior analysts.

You will have the opportunity to extend your own skills in health economic modelling and contribute to methodological developments in the field.
