We're recruiting for an Individual Giving Officer to join our development team at the British Library.

We are the national library of the UK.

We have a living collection that gets bigger every day, with more than 170 million items - from Magna Carta, to handwritten Beatles' lyrics, to manuscripts by the Brontës.

Every item in our collection has the potential to start a journey of exploration, and by opening them up as widely as possible, we help people do amazing things.

Write an award-winning novel. Make a medical breakthrough. Redefine history.

The Individual Giving Officer is an important role in the Library's Development team.

Working alongside the Individual Giving Manager, you will contribute to the Development team's targets by increasing income through a range of regular giving programmes, donations (online, top up donations via box office, shop sales and donation boxes), large scale public appeals and direct marketing activities.

It's a really exciting time to join us as we look to build on the successes of our lower level giving programme and build a healthy prospect pipeline to uplift individuals to become new Benefactor Members (£500), Patrons (£1,500 - £10,000) and legacy pledgers.

In return, we offer a competitive salary and a number of excellent benefits. Our pension scheme is one of the most valuable benefits we offer, as our staff can become members of the Alpha Pension Scheme where the Library contributes a minimum of 26.6% (this may be higher dependant on grade.

Another significant benefit the Library provides is the provision of a flexible working hours scheme which could allow you to work your hours flexibly over the week and to take up to 5 days flexi leave in a 3 month period.

This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
