Roles on offer

  • Junior Applied Scientist

Junior Applied Scientist
As an Applied Scientist, you will consistently look for new ways to improve or do things differently. You will use your extensive knowledge and experience to solve complex technical problems in the most efficient manner. You are inquisitive, a critical thinker, and always listen to learn.

Working collaboratively with other scientists, engineers, and technologists you will design, co-ordinate and implement complex experiments and activities across functional teams.

You will be required to provide support for development projects identified by the company, whilst advancing existing products, technologies, and ideas to enhance the capabilities of the Camlin group.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting the technical development of new and existing products.
  • Taking ownership of product development and product innovation projects as required.
  • Driving consistency and best practice across product development.
  • Providing regular feedback to management on progress of projects and activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining written reports and documentation.
  • Actively collaborate with other teams and practice knowledge sharing within the Science and Technology function, as well as the wider Camlin group.

What you will need to succeed

  • An undergraduate degree (2.1 or above) preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience working at a systems level on any complex electromechanical devices.
  • Experience using programming in command and control of devices.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in data analysis.

Desired criteria
The following skills will be valuable but are not essential:

  • Scientific/Engineering Industry experience.
  • Optical engineering or Spectroscopy knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Python, Labview and Mathcad.
