Description

The Assistant Health Advisor will work as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for their own practice and behaviour.

They will be allocated their own caseload of patients by the registered nurse and will be expected to work independently, holistically assessing patients' needs, planning and prioritising their workload and implementing evidence based care, evaluating the outcomes of care under the mínimal supervision of the registered nurse.


The Assistant Health Advisor will make informed judgements of individual patients in order to manage and support them acting within their own level of competency to undertake specific interventions and treatments seeking advice and supervision when necessary.

Ensuring appropriate consent is gained. They will act as an advocate communicating with all professionals along the patient's pathway.

They will act to ensure patient safety at all times and hold self to account for decisions, actions and omissions in patient care.

They will record in care plans and assessments and evaluate entries that are appropriate to the patient under the supervision of the registered nurse
