BCG is working with one of the industry leaders in climate and sustainability; a pioneer who has developed an essential framework that enables governments, investors and organisations around the world to measure their climate impact and more.


They are undergoing a significant digital transformation and are investing in building out their digital and technology unit to transition them towards being a digital product led organisation.

As well as driving the initial build of these new digital products, BCG are also supporting the organisation in recruiting new talent to take over.

Job Summary


A new role to lead the creation of the foundational data platform and data products for internal and external consumption, as a Product Owner you will be responsible for the execution of the data squads within the digital division, leading the transition to a data-centric organisation.

You will work closely with software / data engineers, QAs, designers within your squad as well as a with a wide group of stakeholders across the organisation.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the endtoend development, maintenance and optimisation of the core data platform and products (e.g portals, dashboard) for internal and external use
  • Manage entire data platform and data products life cycle journey and feature design, roadmap build, delivery
  • Identify and realise opportunities to maximise value of data through design and delivery of data products that meet user needs
  • Develop a data platform that empowers consumers (e.g. analytics experts, business users) by providing a flexible, accessible, costefficient, and centralised data hub, with high levels of data quality (e.g. accuracy, completeness, reliability)
  • Ensure the data platform adheres to best practices in terms of governance, performance, stability, security, regulatory compliance
  • Define objectives and key results (OKRs) in collaboration with Product leadership and ensure alignment with overall company mission
  • Lead crossfunctional squad(s) of analytics experts, software/data/QA engineers, and designers to deliver the data platform and products
  • Define and prioritise product backlog and oversee daytoday squad delivery (e.g. backlog grooming, story and acceptance criteria definition)
  • Monitor user feedback and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement based on user needs
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in environment research and datarelated technology
  • Own, promote and safeguard the fulfilment of agile and scrum methodologies and ceremonies

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in an endtoend Product role (conception to launch) building and managing data products/platforms
  • Experienced leading squads of software and data engineers, plus designers and QA
  • Knowledge of data platform architecture, data models, data ingestion, processing, sharing, analytics, governance, infrastructure
  • Familiarity with cloudbased technologies and platforms for scalable data management (ideally Azure ecosystem)
  • Deep knowledge and experience of using a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques
  • Analytical mindset, ability to interpret and analyse data, problem solve, and generate actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication skills and relationshipbuilding abilities, with clientcentric approach
  • Experience working with charities, NGOs, or similar organisations preferred
  • Knowledge, interest, and passion for the environmental and / or sustainability space will be an advantage
